St. Maximilian Centre in Harmęże
Distance: 8 km
The centre was established as a token of gratitude for the life, work, and martyrdom of St. Maximilian. It is intended to spread devotion to him, promote an understanding of his charism, and champion the idea of “victorious Love,” through which God triumphed in St. Maximilian, enabling him to bear witness to this Love in the assembly square and in the death bunker at Auschwitz.
This is a place dedicated to prayer and the reinforcement of peace, love, and reconciliation among people of different nations and religions, in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Maximilian Kolbe. Here, one can experience spiritual care, participate in days of reflection, retreats, or engage in a scientific symposium. It is also a place of remembrance and prayer for those who perished in the concentration camp.
